Olav Kooij, al sprint, se ha llevado la cuarta etapa del Tour de Polonia y sigue confirmándose como uno de los mejores velocistas del mundo. El neerlandés, que ya lleva tiempo instalado en la élite de las llegadas masivas, conquista un gran triunfo en Polonia ante algunos de sus grandes rivales a la hora de pelear por este tipo de etapas. Sam Bennet, Mads Pedersen, Tim Merlier o Jordi Meeus son los que han secundado la victoria del de Visma Lease a Bike.

No se han producido cambios en la clasificación general, en la que sigue mandando Jonas Vingegaard, antes de las tres últimas y decisivas etapas.

DECLARACIONES

Olav Kooij: «Siempre guardo buenos recuerdos de Polonia. Fue agradable volver. Aquí tenemos un buen equipo con diferentes objetivos, tanto en la general como al sprint. Correr en un entorno como éste, con objetivos diferentes para todos, permite a todos estar a un alto nivel, realmente motivados para hacerlo bien. Estoy muy contento de haber ganado hoy aquí, y el equipo ha hecho un gran trabajo para conseguirlo»

Sam Bennett: «Estoy bastante contento de subir al podio; es bueno para la confianza, aunque el objetivo siempre es ganar. Los chicos han hecho un trabajo fantástico, tienen experiencia. Nos pusimos al frente de la carrera bastante pronto, y fue una decisión acertada porque la carretera estaba casi bloqueada desde los 30-40 kilómetros hasta la meta. Trabajamos bien juntos y conseguimos mantener nuestra posición, haciendo que la carrera fuera más tranquila y menos estresante. La llegada fue bastante caótica, y no pudimos hacer la tradicional salida para el sprint, pero al final fue un gran esfuerzo de equipo».
