Si Cadel Evans es el único ganador australiano del Tour de Francia, su homónimo y compatriota Alexander ha devuelto el apellido y el pasaporte a Francia al imponerse en la peculiar etapa del Tour del Porvenir sobre 23 kilómetros en constante ascensión al col de Loze (2.261 metros de altitud), aventajando a luxemburgués Michel Ries -Kometa en el resto de pruebas- y al francés Clément Champoussin, tercero. Ion Agirre, séptimo, fue el mejor de los españoles. El noruego Tobias Foss, quinto, es el nuevo líder de la prueba para sub-23 por selecciones con Urko Berrade, noveno.
