Shotaro Iribe es el nuevo líder del Tour de Tailandia tras la disputa de la segunda etapa. El corredor del Shimano Racing Team ha sido el más rápido al sprint en la línea de meta situada en Aranyarathet, adonde el pelotón ha llegado tras 173 kilómetros procedente de Chanthaburi.
El japonés, que logra así el mejor éxito de su carrera y estrena el palmarés de su equipo en 2018, ha superado en la ‘volata’ al colombiano Jorge Castilblanco (Team Illuminate) y al tailandés Sarawut Sirironnachai, los tres corredores que han tomando unos segundos de ventaja respecto al grupo principal para luchar por la victoria.
