El Lotto NL holandés supo jugar sus dos bazas para la victoria y en este caso se la llevó Danny Van Poppel -la otra era Dylan Groenewegen– tras atacar en el último kilómetros después de haber neutralizado 200 metros antes al checo Zdenek Stybar. El poderoso holandés -hijo de Jean-Paul y hermano de Boy– firmó así su 16ª victoria como profesional y tercera del año adelantándose en la prueba belga 1.1 UCI al campeón de ese país, Yves Lampaert –Quick Step rozó su 70 triunfo 2018- y el de 2017, Oliver Naesen.
El valenciano Sergio Torres, único español, terminó a poco más de 4 minutos.
