Sang-Hoon Park (LX Cycling Team) se ha impuesto en la segunda etapa del Tour de Tailandia (2.1), de 184 kilómetros entre las localidades de Uttaradit y Nan. El surcoreano ha sido el más rápido al sprint por delante de Junyong Wan (Hengxiang), segundo, y Giovanni Lonardi (Nippo-Vini Fantini-Faizanè), tercero, que han completado el podio.
Se trata de la primera victoria como profesional de Sang-Hoon Park, de 26 años y que en 2018 se colgó el oro en la prueba de Persecución en los Juegos Asiáticos. En la clasificación general, Lonardi sigue líder tras ganar la primera etapa.
El chino Guantong Ma (Hengxiang) ha sido el protagonista del día. Integrante de la fuga, se ha marchado en solitario en el tramo final de la etapa y ha mantenido un bonito pulso con el pelotón, que le ha dado caza dentro del último kilómetro.
El primer español en la etapa ha sido el gallego Pablo Torres (Interpro Cycling Academy), que ha cruzado la línea de meta en la 43ª posición con el mismo tiempo del ganador. El murciano Salvador Guardiola (Kinan Cycling Team) es 35º en la general a 14 segundos de Lonardi, mismo tiempo que el propio Torres (56º) y su compañero Marcos García (59º), mientras que David Casanovas (Interpro Cycling Academy) es el último clasificado a 16:58 del líder.
La próxima etapa
El miércoles 3 de abril se celebra la jornada reina del Tour de Tailandia, de 197.2 kilómetros con salida y llegada en Nan. El recorrido cuenta con seis subidas en el tramo central de la etapa, tres de ellas puntuables, y que deberían romper el orden del pelotón y motivar los movimientos entre los favoritos a la clasificación general.
