El belga de 20 años Mauri Vansevenant, ganado del pasado Giro de Aosta sub-23, se convirtió en el nuevo líder en el Tour del Porvenir al finalizar la séptima etapa en la ascensión a La Giettaz, de nuevo bajo la insistente lluvia y viento, en segunda plaza tras el colombiano Harold Tejada, quien correrá para Astana el próximo año, después de un sprint a dúo.
El mejor corredor español en la llegada fue Urko Berrade, en novena plaza y clasificado en la general octavo a 2’50» del nuevo líder.
