Con una facilidad casi insultante, Michael Matthews se adjudicó el GP Québec, prueba UCI World Tour sobre 202 kilómetros sobre el clásico circuito de la ciudad francófona canadiense. El australiano del Sunweb fue el mejor ante el campeón olímpico Greg Van Avermaet y el también belga Jasper Stuyven, con Carlos Verona como mejor español.
Britton, Langlois, Dougall, Cataford y Sagiv conformaron la fuga de una jornda que se vio convulsionada por la caída de varios corredores por culpa de un perro suelto entre los que quedó afectado el portugués del Movistar, Nuno Bico.
Astana y BMC empezaron a trabaja cuando el quinteto llegó a los 6 minutos de diferencia. Mientras Peter Kennaugh se fue a 27 kilómetros para la meta y fue neutralizando a los destacados. Trek y BMC se pusieron serios y el británico del Bora aguantó el pulso hasta 400 metros de meta para ver luego como su trabajo se lo echó por tierra un imparable Matthews.
