Por milímetros y tras el revelado de la foto de meta, el holandés Danny Van Poppel se ha adjudicado la prueba belga 1.1 UCI Halle-Ingooigem ante su compatriota Fabio Jakobsen, impidiendo así la que hubiera sido 39ª victoria del Quick Step. Pero en esta ocasión se ha fijado la vigésima del Lotto NL -tras las recientes de Roglic en Eslovenia- y la segunda 2018 del hermano de Boy e hijo de Jean-Paul tras la primera etapa de la pasada Volta a la Comunitat Valenciana.
La carrera no tuvo participación española.
