Como hiciera en 2012, el francés Julien Simon se impuso en solitario en el Tour de Finisterre (1.1) tras lanzar el ataque definitivo en los últimos metros sobre el duro repecho en la llegada a Quimper. Consigue además sumar la quinta victoria para el equipo francés Cofidis en la que va de temporada. El italiano Andrea Vendrame (Androni Giocatolli-Sidermec) y Baptiste Planckaert (Wallonie Bruxelles) le escoltarán en el podio en segunda y tercera posición respectivamente.
Séptima prueba de la Copa de Francia y fiel a su estilo no defraudó la 34ª edición del Tour de Finisterre después de una final muy animado tras 187,5 kms de carrera. Alexis Gougeard (AG2R La Mondiale) y Jonathan Hivert (Total Direct Energie) pusieron en jaque a un grupo reducido tras romperse la carrera en varios grupos como resultado de los ataques previos. A 2 km de la meta, después de neutralizar al dúo en fuga se sucedieron los contraataques, pero Simon pudo hacer valer su mayor aceleración final en la ascensión de la llegada en el momento adecuado. Nadie pudo seguirlo y ganó con unos pocos metros por delante de Vendrame y Planckaert sucediendo de esa manera a Hivert. Por su lado, Óscar Rodríguez (Murias) finalizó séptimo siendo el mejor clasificado de los representantes españoles en liza consiguiendo su tercer top 10 de la temporada.
