La corredora de Movistar, Lourdes Oyarbide, ha sido la protagonista en la tercera y última etapa tras completar una cabalgada en soliario en los últimos 20 kms después de coronar la ascensión al puerto de la Retuerta y soltar a sus compañeras de fuga Fernanda Yapura (WTC) y Eugenia Bujak (BTC) con una diferencia de 1′ sobre el grupo perseguidor donde llegaba la líder Stine Borgli (NOR), que se convierte en la vencedora de la clasificación general final de la ronda burgalesa.
Declaraciones
Lourdes Oyarbide: “Me siento muy, muy feliz. Es mi primera victoria UCI de siempre y también la primera del equipo este año. Hoy hemos corrido realmente bien. Nuestro plan inicial era endurecer muchísimo la carrera para que Mavi pudiese luchar por ella. Una opción era mandar corredoras por delante para que Mavi pudiese arrancar, unirse y caminar hasta meta, pero no la dejaban marcharse y hemos pasado al ‘plan B’ (ríe): que yo intentase aguantar hasta meta. En las subidas yo realmente no arrancaba a mis compañeras de fuga: simplemente el ritmo ha sido alto todo el día, las he podido soltar y seguir empujando mientras, por detrás, las chicas controlaban muchísimo, paraban los movimientos, rompían el ritmo y me permitían llegar incluso con margen. Una satisfacción enorme”.
Mavi García: “Me he sentido muy bien todos los días en cuanto a físico, pero la mayor satisfacción de estos días ha sido el trabajo del equipo. Hemos cogido mucha confianza en esta carrera, trabajando todas muy bien, muy unidas; diría incluso que nunca habíamos trabajado asiíde bien, corriendo tan juntas y con tan buena compenetración. El remate de Lourdes de hoy ha sido espectacular. Vengo de hacer dos muy buenas carreras aquí y en Yorkshire y ahora afrontamos la Bira, una prueba durísima, con etapas muy exigentes, muchísimo nivel… Yo, como digo, me siento bien y voy con ilusión y con ganas de estar ahí y luchar ante las grandes. Esperemos que sea otra muy buena semana para el equipo”.

El Alé-Cipollini sigue ejerciendo su dominio en la Vuelta a Burgos con su tercer triunfo de etapa consecutivo, esta vez a manos de Soraya Paladin, que suma su segunda victoria consecutiva tras ser la mejor en la cima del Alto de Rosales, punto y final de la tercera etapa de la ronda burgalesa.
Aunque inicialmente se había anunciado a la noruega Stiner Anderson Borgli como la nueva líder de la prueba después de haber terminado segunda, el jurado decidió finalmente picar dos segundos entre la vencedora y el terceto perseguidor, por lo que Paladin es, también, la nueva líder de la carrera, en la que, Mavi García (Movistar), cuarta hoy, asciende hasta la tercera posición de la general a sólo 2 segundos del liderato.

Soraya Paladin, la italiana del Alé de su país, logró la segunda victoria consecutiva en la Vuelta a Burgos (2.1 UCI) tras ser la más fuerte en el repecho de Poza de la Sal, donde Mavi García (Movistar) -líder del TOP Ciclo 21– pudo firmar la segunda plaza situándose opara la general final.Una jornada sin fugas de enjundia y que se decidió en la vigilancia y remate de la ascensión definitiva.

La neerlandesa Karlijn Swinkels (Alé-Cipollini), de sólo 20 años, ha estrenado hoy su palmarés al ser la más rápida en la línea de meta de Villadiego, localidad que, tras dar también la salida 109 kilómetros antes, ha sido el punto de llegada de la primera etapa de la Vuelta a Burgos, de la que Swinkels es también la primera líder.
Alba Teruel (Movistar), ha sido la mejor española del día al entrar en la línea de meta en cuarta posición por detrás, además de la ganadora, de Marissa Baks (Biehler) y Silvia Magri (BePink).
